Special Assessment for Garbage and Recycling

The Town of New Hope held a Special Meeting of Electors on November 21, 2023 to discuss and approve the 2024 budget, which includes a special assessment for garbage and recycling, to be applied to each residence (primary and seasonal) for the 2023 tax year.  The annual assessed fee per residence is $203.75, and includes weekly garbage pick up and bi-weekly recycling pick up.  Garbage and recycling bins were distributed prior to 2023.

The special assessment charge was approved by unanimous vote; a special assessment charge of $203.75 appears on New Hope residents’ 2023 tax bill.  This charge includes the monthly cost per residence (primary, seasonal, and rentals), plus a portion of the fuel surcharge expected for the coming year.
